Kennedy's award-winning career has taken him around the world shooting in over 20 countries. His extensive body of work features all genres with commercials, branded content, music video, print, episodic, and feature films.
Early on during his production assistant days he envisioned directing music videos, but with no portfolio and no experience he couldn’t find any willing bands. Kennedy came up with a plan that ultimately launched his career. He created a fictitious rapper "Justin Time" wrote a rap song and filmed himself performing the silly track called Yo! Spring Break. The music video wound up on MTV rotation as the first video ever to play without being signed to a record label. 100 more videos later Kennedy has worked with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Future, Busta Rhymes, Lumineers, Lauryn Hill, Lady A, De La Soul, and Notorious B.I.G.
His sense of beauty, fashion, and storytelling helped him transition to major agency commercials with clients like P&G, L’Oréal, Coty, Levi’s, ESPN, Nestle, Coca-Cola, NBA, and Verizon.

A pioneer in the “Branded Content” movement, he’s created many notable projects. The Garnier 7-year “Style Files” series featured musicians at major music festivals. Rolling Stone Magazine's “Women Who Rock” web series focused on some of the music industry’s hottest and relevant stars like Janelle Monae and Rita Ora.
The relationship with Rolling Stone Magazine lead to Kennedy’s first “rock-doc”. The film captured the remarkable story of the first unsigned band ever to make the magazine’s cover and was the featured music documentary premiering at Nashville Film Festival presented by Rolling Stone. His most recent documentary, “Growing Hope”, focuses on tolerance, understanding and inclusion and premiered at the Chicago History Museum. Kennedy is also currently in post-production on the docu-series “Road to the Ring” featuring the resilient stories of boxers in 12 American cities.
Kennedy’s creative development with Netflix includes a mini-series “Fight” featuring an Orc trying to become a UFC fighter for “Bright” starring Will Smith and “Love Assistants” for “Set It Up” starring Glenn Powell, Lucy Liu, and Zoey Deutch.
When Kennedy isn’t on the road, he resides in NYC and frequents his mountain home in the Catskills where he built a “photo studio barn” on the property so he’s always ready to shoot!
